Learning Center AND SERVICES
Programming and services provided by Learning Centre teachers are intended to assist students in achieving the learning outcomes of the Public School Program curriculum, or the in the case of students with an Individual Program Plan (IPP), their individualized outcomes.
Learning Centre teachers collaborate with teachers in the program planning process as outlined in the Special Education Policy Manual and in Supporting Student Services: Resource Programming and Services.

Learning Centre support is delivered in a variety of ways:
- Assisting in research, selection, and/or development of materials and resources appropriate to the needs of the individual learner
- Contributing to the assessment of the student by helping to ascertain how the student learns
- Assisting in the selection and adaptation of instructional strategies to meet student needs
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, other involved professionals, and parents/guardians regarding the preparation of referrals and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programming to meet the specific needs of individual students
- Providing direct services to students in class and/or in a learning centre setting
- Assisting in transition planning for students with special needs
